Boise Startup Week

Boise Startup Week is Idaho’s largest entrepreneurial focused event inviting thousands of aspiring entrepreneurs and trailblazers to learn from industry experts and talented business leaders fueling Boise’s small business ecosystem. Our goal was to create visually striking marketing and advertising campaigns to boost awareness for the event, emphasize their pivot to a virtual platform for 2020, and drive new and return audiences to participate. We collaborated closely with BSW leadership to develop 2020’s manifesto, national and local PR coverage, blog articles, advertising, email campaigns, and social media advertising and marketing leading up to and throughout the event.

Campaign Branding

While maintaining Boise Startup Week’s already popular and recognizable branding, we developed a distinct, inspiring pop-modernization to reflect the pivot to a 2020 virtual event. We wanted to emphasize recognition to the traditional brand while reinforcing the event’s transformation from physical to virtual.

Paid Advertisements

We looked at this year’s virtual event as an opportunity to broaden the audience reach over previous years. With Boise Startup Week moving completely online, we could target young entrepreneurs and trailblazers looking for inspiration, resources, and knowledge from all over. Our approach was to promote high-value resources, offer pertinent assets, and highlight the versatility of virtual platforms to generate attention and stimulate discussion in the startup ecosystem.

Campaign Outreach

Boise Startup Week’s primary events are the high value cash prize competitions, and seminar panels with local trailblazers and industry experts. To emphasize the value and draw attention to these events, we coordinated with local news outlets through press releases, promoted blogs and interviews with the previous year’s competition winners, and showcased seminar video snippets through social media channels, email, and press releases.

Video Production

As the marketing team partnered with Boise Startup Week, UrbanLink Group leadership was invited to produce a virtual panel discussion to show during the BSW event. Our video featured our CEO, Christopher D. Jones, and local business entrepreneurs discussing their startup experiences and expertise regarding the BSW2020 theme, B. Resilient.
